Sanjay Gupta is the Father of Bristol Palins Baby. (Or: Why Palin might be your next VP)

Yes, I know. Sarah Palin is a nobody governor from Alaska, one of the least populated states in the nation, who can’t even raise her own children much less lead this nation.

I get it, I agree. The bad news is that it’s the same problems people have with her that make her such a good choice.

Every reason people give for why Sarah Palin is inept for her position is another reason why she was selected, and why she is going to breath life into Mccain’s campaign.

Since the election of John F. Kennedy it has become increasingly apparent that the executive branch election cycle is probably the most important beauty pageant in America. It’s got all the sexiness of the Mrs. America pageant, complete with dreamy commentators, and all excitement of American Idol, featuring even the appearance of a reliable voting system.

You might not like it, but the reality is that executive branch elections are less about actual positions or issues, and more about appearances and vague concepts that people can feel good about.

That’s why Sarah Palin is relevant in this election.

Top Four Reasons Sarah Palin Is Terrible For VP.

  • “Christian Morals? What part of a 5 month pregnant 17 year old Daughter is Moral?”
  • “Hillarites are not stupid enough to vote conservative just because of a Female VP candidate.”
  • “Alaska? Wait what?.”
  • “Obama doesn’t have experience? Look at her!”

Top Four Reasons Sarah Palin Is Going to be a Great VP.

  • “Sarah Palin understands the troubles of the modern American Family. We conservatives are constantly engaged in a culture war on all sides by an aggressive liberal media that throws out morals and ethics for ratings!”
  • “Hillary would have been a strong President, but in her absence Sarah Palin represents an equally strong candidate. She, unlike Hillary, isn’t some White Collar female. She has a far better understanding of how hard it is to be both a Woman and a Mother. If I want a candidate who is going to fight for the hardships of the average woman, who better than someone who has actually experienced them.”
  • “Good thing Mccain didn’t pick some California Conservative who is willing to tear down the 2nd Ammendment just so we can pretend we’re safe at night. Alaska is what this country should be. I want a candidate who hunts and fishes, not plays tennis.”
  • “Sarah Palin might not be some Washington insider, but she is a consistent and reliable conservative. Maybe she’s only been in politics for a short time, but she’s been a Republican her whole life.”

Now I’m not about to switch parties because of Sarah Palin, but I will say that she’s a good pick, and all the problems people pin on her are only going to help the campaign. Besides, any news is good news, and if CNN is spending a few hours talking about “who’s the father of Sarah Palins pregnant daughter” that’s a few hours of face time for the Republican Party they wouldn’t of had otherwise.

Besides, now you have to deal with this argument:

“Dude, Palin is the hottest VP we’re gonna get, we have to vote for her.”
